Make A Crossword!

We have been reading about different cultures in Social Studies.  In particular, we have read about Nihon.  Please make a crossword using all the important vocabulary words we have read in Chapter 4 of your text book (Investigating Cultures).  Make a list of 45 words that you think are important to our investigation of other cultures from the entire chapter.  Some will be highlighted and bolded, some you can just pick.  Spelling counts!

Once you have your list, create some short clues that other students could use to solve your crossword.

Then click here...and input your words and clues (spelled correctly!).  Your crossword title should be "Your Name - Investigating Cultures"

Once you have CHECKED your crossword for COPS, print it out, hole punch it and insert it into your SS binder after your last piece of work.

There, Their, They're...Homophone Challenge

It's official; some of your grammar is driving me crazy!  Homophones are words that sound the same but are spelled differently.  There is so much confusion out there.  There are people who are confused about their usage of some homophones: they're unable to distinguish when to use there, or their, or they're!  Well there's one way to fix their confusion and to make sure they're always correct when they use these homophones...We'll do some exercises on them!

Please read this lesson, then click on each of these links below.  Complete the exercises.  Then post a one sentence comment that shows you can use these 3 homophones correctly.
